TITLE
The name shall be the Federation of British Police Motor
Clubs, hereafter referred to as the ' Federation '.
OBJECTS The objects of the Federation shall be :
To promote a cordial relationship between the Police Forces and between
individual members of those forces. To encourage a greater measure of
co-operation between members of the public and Police and to foster good
relationship between them. To encourage and promote schemes for road
safety whenever possible. To organise sporting, touring, caravan and
social events with a view to fulfilling the above aims.
ADDRESS.
The
Headquarters of the Federation shall be the residence of the General
Secretary.
MEMBERSHIP. Membership of the Federation shall be confined to Motor Clubs
of Police Forces in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as defined by
the Police Acts 1890 and 1921, the Police Act 1964 (England and Wales),
the Police Act (Scotland) 1967, The Constabulary Act (Northern Ireland)
1922 or any Act consolidating or modifying these enactments.
i) Notwithstanding anything referred to in 4 (a)
the Federation may accept for membership any Police Motor Club acceptable to
the Association of Chief police Officers.
ii) Individuals who are motoring personalities and
who are friends the Federation may be elected to Honorary Membership at the
General Council Meeting. Such membership shall renewed annually and shall
not carry the right to compete or vote.
iii) A member of a Federated Club may be elected an
Honorary Life Member of the Federation at the General Council Meeting, Such
membership shall carry the right to compete. The Federation shall not have
membership of the Police Athletic Association, but shall be regarded as an
extraneous responsibility of that Association. Police uniform shall not be
worn for federation events unless approval has been given by the memberšs
Chief Officer. The Federation shall have no jurisdiction over individual
member club Affairs or rules.
